The journal article “A Brief History of Blockchain Interoperability”, co-authored by BIG researchers Rafael Belchior (IST/INESC-ID and main author) and Miguel Pupo Correia (IST/INESC-ID) with Jan Süßenguth (Süßenguth Engineering), Qi Feng (Independent Researcher), Thomas Hardjono (MIT) and André Vasconcelos (IST/INESC-ID) is highlighted at the highly prestigious Communications of the ACM journal, in the October 2024 issue.

The article, recently considered the most-read ACM DLT 2023 paper,  offers a “deep dive into blockchain interoperability: why it is needed, progress that has been made, how it is currently deployed and used, and likely paths of future development”.

Rafael Belchior has recently defended his Ph.D. thesis at IST within the BIG ERA Chair project, and Miguel Correia is a leading specialist in DLT interoperability.
