From June 17–19, 2025, the 18th edition of the prestigious Cloud Control Workshop brought together leading academic and industry researchers from 15 countries in Skåvsjöholm, in the Stockholm archipelago.
This exclusive, invitation-only event provided a unique opportunity to exchange knowledge, build collaborations, and explore multidisciplinary research challenges in cloud infrastructure and distributed systems.
Prof. Rodrigo Rodrigues, of the BIG ERA project, participated in this edition and co-organized a breakout discussion session alongside Dr. Yvonne-Anne Pignolet, Director of Research at Dfinity, the main contributor to the Internet Computer blockchain.
Their session, titled “Distributed computing challenges in blockchain and cloud computing”, sparked an insightful and lively discussion, touching on multiple research areas, including several directly aligned with the work developed under BIG ERA.
The Cloud Control Workshop continues to position itself as a driving force in the field, prioritizing interaction, collaboration, and forward-thinking research over traditional publication formats.
